What did I learn from the pro-tour today?


  • Siege rhino is still good
  • Mantis Rider is back
  • Jace, Vryn's Prodigy will be everywhere for the next 12 months.
  • 4-5 colour decks will be dominant.
  • Sligh has an opening to wreck many, many faces.
After being involved in 3 days of chat on You-Tube, here's what I designed... Because as we got into the top-8, everything was just Siege Rhino, the card is still silly good! The new set... Siege of the Rhinoceros.

Work for a company because you want to, not because you need to. It's 2018, opportunity is in every aspect of our life. 2017, you were good to me. Achieved living independence in a lush flat in Brighton. Deffo proud of this place even if it's a tad costly. Offset the costly flat with the new job from 2016 and managed to get a promotion to a leadership based role. (tho I'll be rescinded from that responsibility fairly soon) Got CFB: Core Staff for the year meaning I worked all CFB Grand Prix's in Europe, landed a good enough impression in Birmingham to be trusted into the 'Spec Ops' role for Lyon, a role which holds a lot of responsibility and is critical in ensuring a Magic Grand Prix runs smoothly for all involved. I had positive feedback on my work in Lyon and some areas to develop too (the best kind of feedback!) I'm already back in the role in January in London and want to visit USA and do a Grand Prix out there too. Setting up MTG Eastbourne (again) & Etiquette at the table

Haven't I been here before? So it's 3pm and I'm prepping myself for the day (you see I don't get up early when I don't have to work or play MTG) and later on we have a meeting at my local gaming club to bring it more in line for better events and the like.  Gareth Ward has negotiated a contract with a supplier to get us booster boxes at an amazing price allowing us to run events with decent prizes while keeping the cost down... ...Still all I can think about is the latest MTG team I've got into. The name is currently looking like team storm count and we're going to be evaluating Fate Reforged this Thursday, hoping of course Simon Skipper is cool to drive.  We've got a great venue at Shrunken Terra in Burgess Hill, Sussex and the owner Jake Hutchinson is accomodating, providing us with hot drinks and food at a fair price.
